Ropley 50 were looking to get their own back in this game from the heavy defeat Odiham handed them on the first game of the season.
Ropley started positively, moving the ball around the pitch and keeping possession. Bobby playing the ball out from the back line, whilst Pullers and Elliott were fighting for every ball in the middle.
Mid way through the first half after a nice bit of play from Ropley, Nash chased down a long ball into the box rounding a defender and the keeper, unluckily for Nash the defender cleared his shot into the roof of the net, OG 1-0 Ropley.
Odiham had their chances too but some great saves from Jamie Smith in the Ropley goal kept the score 1-0 going into half time.
Odiham came out after the half time break piling the pressure on. Ropley knew they had to keep their striker and the leagues top scorer at bay. This didn’t happen. After some confusion, with one of their own players injured on the deck, Ropleys defence had a momentary lack of concentration in which odiham managed to break through and equalise.
Ropley didn’t let this dampen their spirits and kept pushing for the win. They managed to get another goal after a great bit of play in the middle saw Nick through on goal to put Ropley back in front. A few minutes later Odiham got another equaliser.
Ropley kept the pressure on hoping to get a winning goal but couldn’t make their chances count.
Final score 2-2.
